OCR: 872 4 January: Paul, the son of Cezanne and Hortense Fiquet, is born at 45 rue de Jussieu, Paris. Cézanne acknowledges his son. April: Cezanne is refused by the Salon. He signs a petition to the Minister of Culture and Fine Arts demanding that a room for the Refuses be opened in the exhibition at the Salon de l'Industrie. August: Cézanne joins Pissarro, who has settled at Pontoise, outside Paris. He ater moves to the nearby village of Auvers-sur-oise. 1873 Cézanne spends the entire year with Hortense and their son at Auvers, walking to Pontoise every day to work beside Pissarro.
